I read all of the books when they first came out (my grandparents always queued up at midnight to get them straight away for me!) and I thought they were pretty good. I suspect you’ll get a more enthusiastic answer from some of the other scientists, though…

My favourite characters are Fred and George Weasley, Neville, Dobby, Hermione, and Mrs. Weasley. Harry Potter has formed an important part of my growing up years. I used to be a shy lonely kid in school almost always bullied in the mean girls school I went to. The harry Potter characters, especially the friendship between the three of them: Harry, Ron and Hermione, gave me hope that some day I too will find such amazing friends. Neville gave me hope that no matter how shy I am and how afraid I think I am, when the time comes I should have the courage to stand up for what is right. Dobby taught me loyalty. Fred and George taught me to make even the saddest situations humourous (Remember how in Deathly Hallows, after being injured when George was asked by Fred how he was feeling, George said “Saint-like. I’m holy. Hole-y, get it?”) And I am a bit of a nerd like Hermione. According to the sorting hat in Pottermore I am a Gryffindor. However I have crush on Tom Felton. I make sure that I don’t end up in a Harry Potter themed store by myself, because my bank account would be very unsafe with me then 😀

I’m a massive Harry Potter fan (scarfs, wands, owls, I have them all)! Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was the first book I read as a kid (yes I started with the second book because it was a gift) and I was so obsessed that my parents almost didn’t let me buy the new books because I wouldn’t do anything else but read (when Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix came out I was on a family holiday and I refused to do anything but read my book). I’m still in love with this magical world and still expect my Hogwarts letter to arrive. Also, I’m pretty sure I’m a Gryffindor and my patronus will probably look like my dog, Jessie.
