For me my next big piece of work is for the European Space Agency (ESA) Climate Change Initiative (CCI) work. This is looking at long term global earth observation data looking at soil moisture, ocean salinity, aerosols, ocean colour, land surface temperatures and ice sheets. I am quite looking forward to this, should be very interesting 🙂

I don’t know yet, but I love my project on how growing older affects our blood and I would like to take this a step further in the future and look into diseases that appear as we age, like dementia! I think that a lot of things that I have discovered in my project can be used to help us diagnose these diseases and improve people’s lives.

One of the best things about working in Computer Science is that you could end up helping out people in any field, so you get to do a lot of different things. My biggest projects have been all about stopping bridges from falling down, but I have also looked at stopping invasive plants from taking over the countryside and finding new ways to detect lung cancer. I would be very interested to look into using computers to discover far-away planets soon.
