Sometimes it can be hard work, but other times quite easy. I can usually work on more than one project at a time as I could be running code for one project and archiving data for another all on separate machines. The more challenging time is when I am archiving data for more than one project at a time! I can then often get them confused, so I try not to do this that much 🙂

I defiantly have the weekends off and I only work during the daytime around 8:45-5pm. We then do get a 30 days allowance of annual leave every year 🙂

It takes a lot of practice to multitask. This is developed over years of balancing deadlines and commitments (especially throughout University). As important as it is to work hard, it is equally as important to take time out to rest. I try to rest every weekend so I am ready for the week ahead. I also try to take as much holiday as possible. If you’re stuck on a difficult problem, taking some time out does a world of good – just like returning to a video game level that you’re stuck on and cannot complete!

I still find multi-tasking really hard as I really like to focus at one thing at a time. I found that if I schedule my day and say that I will do one thing at a certain time, that works better for me! I still get quite anxious though when too many things are happening at once, like when I have a lot of deadlines close to each other. Things usually work out in the end 🙂

I try to not bring my work home! That means no work or emails in the evening or the weekends. Of course there are special times when something urgent needs to be done, but this is not very often. Also, I know that I need to sleep well and relax if I want to be at my best at work so I always try to have at least one super lazy day at the weekend!
