I think that might depend on the country. In my home country, Greece, sun is probably the best source but I doubt there is enough sun here in England to power the whole country all year long.

If you mean in terms of powering our cities and planet, I would say nuclear energy has the potential to be the best, it will certainly release the most energy. At present, I would say we are not harnessing the energy from the Sun (solar energy) as best as we could. The Sun constantly shines, some of it’s energy doesn’t penetrate into the Earth’s atmosphere – we could perhaps have solar panels in space and send it back to Earth somehow. There is a large amount of the Sun’s energy that reaches the Earth but is wasted; think about the amount of light shining on the sea, sand or inactive rock. If we could think of a way to capture this energy it would be hugely beneficial for us.

I think tidal energy is the best renewable energy for our country. We have some of the biggest tides in the world! Tidal energy is not a very popular energy source, but has immense potential of becoming one in the near future. Tidal energy can be generated in two ways, tidal stream generators or by barrage generation. The power created through tidal generators is generally environmental friendly and causes less impact on established ecosystems. It is similar to the wind energy. Tidal energy is the only form of energy that derives directly from the motions of the Earth-Moon system. The tidal forces produced by the Moon-Sun in combination with Earth’s rotation are responsible for the tides.
