Hello 🙂 I am good thanks, busy answering all your questions! I work as a environmental data scientist in the RAL Space department (https://www.ralspace.stfc.ac.uk/Pages/home.aspx) at the Science Technology Facilities Council. It is great as I get to see satellites being built just downstairs from my office!
I gather weather and air pollution measurements, satellite images and climate model data from across the world and put them in our super computer called JASMIN.

Hi Kevin, I’m good. How are you? I am a Data scientist (I work with a lot of numbers, and make sense of these numbers using Mathematics and Physics). Data science is part of the department of Computer science. I do interdisciplinary research, which means that I use computing science to solve problems in different departments such as in healthcare, energy-friendly buildings, help psychologists, and so on. Some of my fellow data scientists from my research group are using data science on astronomy, some using it to find the right age for pigs to be made into ham and bacon, some using it to survey road conditions using satellite images of roads, while some others using it to make smart cars. 🙂

Hi! I’m good, having some fun with answering questions and finally having my first cup of coffee for the day. I work in forensic genetics, which means I use biology and genetics to help police investigations and my department is called Department of Analytical, Environmental and Forensic Sciences ( https://www.kcl.ac.uk/sphes/our-departments/aes/analytical-environmental-forensic-sciences ).

I work for the Foundation Year, which is a sort of extra year at the start of your degree for students who don’t quite get the A-Level grades that they want to. It’s so nice to give some really talented students a second chance. I teach Computer Science, Maths and Physics, but spend my spare time research Artificial Intelligence in Computer Science.
