We have irregular schedule. And nowadays there’s more competition than collaboration. But this is true in other fields as well. In whichever area you want to make an impact you’ll have competition. However in Science along with competition you’ll have some brilliant and friendly collaborators too 🙂 .

I can’t think of one! It is a great career, it is constantly challenging and evolving with new science areas and discoveries!

There are disadvantages in every job, you just have to weight the good and the bad really! I think some of the main disadvantages with being a scientist is that there is not much stability, especially in the beginning of your career, and the salary can be quite low! Of course it all depends on your situation and some people actually enjoy the flexibility and the chance to move to a different city or country often.

If you spend too much time at your computer with a bad posture, you might end up with a bad back! Otherwise, it’s a lot of fun.
