I’m a flexitarian, which means I eat like a vegetarian but also include some meat and fish in my diet. I suffer from chronic iron-deficiency anemia so it’s important to make sure I eat enough foods that contain iron, like spinach, lentils and red meat.
Till my early teens I used to love eating mutton. However one fine day I related goats to cats and dogs (animals I loved already back then) and couldn’t bring myself to eating any genetically 4-legged animals or mammals ever again. There is a guy in my research lab who does not eat anything that has a face: so he will eat scallops and clams but won’t eat a shrimp because the latter has a ‘face’ (eyes and mouth). But these are restrictions we made up ourselves based on which animals we felt more sorry for. Since I haven’t yet felt pity for chicken or pheasants or fish, I still eat them. However I have a good balance of chicken, eggs, and vegetables during my weekly menu. 🙂

Cool. I’m vegetarian, and there aren’t many people I know who are.
