I really, really enjoy it. I teach some people who arrive at university and are already an expert programmer, and other people who have never done any Computer Science before. Somehow, I have to keep all of those people interested! One of the great things about Computer Science is that it is always changing and we are always discovering new things, so there is always something different to teach.

One of the most rewarding things is that I teach Foundation Year students who are doing the first year of their degree. They often come into university very low on confidence and disappointed with their A-Level results. By the time they get to the end of their degree, they are often one of the best students in the whole year group. It’s so rewarding watching my students thrive and develop over four years.
