I could never be a vegan – I enjoy bacon and cheese oatcakes too much! Some people are vegans for all sorts of reasons – religious, sustainability, health, animal welfare – and that’s totally fine too. Good on them for doing something they believe in!

I think it’s cool that people are trying it and it takes a lot of dedication! I’m not a vegan, but I’m trying to eat as sustainable as possible by being a flexitarian (this means I still eat meat and fish in moderation).

I agree with Anastasia. It is a good move but too much of anything is bad. Too much of meat consumption is bad for the environment. Agreed. However having to supply increased amounts of avocados, quinoa, soya (for soya milk) to keep up with the sudden increase in their demand is also affecting the environment in an adverse way, since it wasn’t a natural thing for these plants to be in such high production rate. That’s why eat everything in moderation, and we can all help our planet survive a bit longer.

I think it is good but I could never do it! There are both advantages and disadvantages to being vegan from the increase in demand on crops to reduction of meat. We just need to find a way of eating sustainable.
