At first astronauts used wet sponges, this way the water droplets don’t run away! This caused a lot of astronauts to smell by the time they returned to Earth. In Skylab, the USA’s first space station, they chose to use a different type of shower. This shower strapped the astronauts in before firing water in a closed cylinder. The water flew everywhere unlike those back on earth. At the end of the shower, a vacuum would suck all of the water away. This process took a whopping two hours!
