The answer is (annoyingly) yes and no. The six of us haven’t got enough power or influence or (probably) expertise to instantly fix everything straight away by working together, but every one of us can make small changes to our lives that can help make things a little better. If everybody did that, we would be in a much better place.
Unfortunately Adam is right, the six of us are not enough to fix this alone! We need everyone to do their little bit of work, from kids to students to presidents in order to reverse the damage that has been done after all these years of neglect. However, we are experts in dealing with massive amounts of data so we could help figure out the patterns that make a measure to help the climate change effective! Also, thinking about how many zones there are in this event, with 6 scientists each and so many students, if we add these numbers we could be a significant force, definitely for the UK 🙂
Ideally we would be able to invent a new clean, renewable source of energy. However, even if such a thing was discovered today, it would still take a considerable amount of time for the production and use to be implemented. Our best bet is for each individual think carefully about their carbon footprint and do what they can to reduce their impact on the environment. We only get one Earth! I do suspect that this theoretical green energy will be discovered at some point but for now we need to work on being more environmentally conscious.
