      It is indeed an aspect of genetically engineered babies. However there are some ethical concerns about this.
      One can extract genes from patients and create a “hybrid” gene model and test whether this hybrid model is less vulnerable. It sounds like Mendelian inheritance but with multiple ‘parents’. However I am not an expert in this area. I don’t know if injecting this hybrid (if the hybrid turned out to be more immuned to diseases), would be accepted by the body.
